Grandview Heights’ City Attorney Spreads Misinformation About Issue 31 Via Emails To Residents

On October 15, 2018, a “FAQ” sheet prepared by the City Attorney was circulated via email to residents. The City Attorney claimed the “FAQ” sheet was her effort to correct misinformation being circulated about Issue 31. The City Attorney’s “FAQ” sheet was also emailed to members of the Civic Association, without the consent or permission of those members.

Residents familiar with Issue 31 recognized that the “FAQ” sheet was not as factual as the City Attorney claimed and that her work was, in fact, rife with misinformation and misleading statements.

Bob Claussen, a long-time resident of Grandview Heights who was involved in the passage of the original 1989 Green Space Ordinance, prepared his own Response detailing the many problems and issues with the City Attorney’s statements and representations. He provides accurate information every resident should have when deciding how to vote on November 6, 2018 including back-up documentation and links which substantiate his statements and refute those made by the City Attorney.

Compare Mr. Claussen’s Response with the so-called “FAQ” sheet prepared by the City Attorney. The City Attorney’s “FAQ” sheet is a disservice to Grandview Heights’ residents who deserve to have the facts when deciding how to vote on November 6, 2018 and to have City officials provide the facts rather than attempt to influence elections by circulating misinformation.
